Human and Hope Association (HHA) is a grassroots NGO based in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Their aim is to empower Cambodians to create sustainable futures through a holistic approach to development which focuses on education, vocational training and community support.
Our board, Human and Hope Association Incorporated (HHA Inc.), is a registered charity in Australia. We are responsible for fundraising and raising awareness for HHA. Our board has no power over HHA, as we are passionate about enabling the Khmer team to make decisions by themselves, especially since the organisation will be completely locally run in 2016.
We are looking for a new person to join our board in the position or Organisational Director. We seek a passionate, self-motivated person who has an understanding that for development to be truly effective, the locals must be the ones running the show.
In this position you would primarily be responsible for researching grant opportunities, raising funds, approaching corporate donors and spreading the word about HHA. Ideally you would have experience with fundraising in the not-for-profit sector.
You will be joining a team of five other board members who hold their meetings via Skype and are always looking for ways to imrpove our fundraising efforts.
In return, you can be assured that you are making a real difference to the lives of Cambodians, as HHA is focused on outcomes, not output.
Rest assured, the local team have their own sustainable income generation methods in place, such as a farm and sewing business, so you can know you would be contributing to an organisation who isn’t just asking for handouts.
