Human and Hope Association

My Day at Work

My name is Moun Samen. I am twenty-six years old. I was born in Kok Krosang Village. In my free time, I like reading books and watching TV, especially news program. In the future, I want to be a lawyer because I would like to share my knowledge to children.

Nowadays I am working for Human and Hope Association at Wat Chork and I work as Community and Education Assistant. I have worked here for two years. I start working at 8 o’clock in the morning and finish at 7 o’clock in the evening. At Human and Hope Association, every morning I always pick up preschool students at the village, and bring preschool students brush their teeth. Sometimes I bring them take a bath. At 9am I start to teach them Khmer and English to other students at 10am to 11am. I take a rest for three hours. I start working at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.

In the afternoon I work in the office. In the office I check my email, make ID card and Art Class list, prepare lesson plans, write a report for my Director and search lesson to teach students. Sometimes I go to the community with my colleague to find sewing and preschool students for the new term and run workshops for them. I sell class material to students, check classroom, clean water filter and make announcement about holiday, registration and workshop. In the evening I teach English for two more hours. I finish at 7 o’clock. Before I go back home, I lock the classroom and office. Some days I have joined workshops with other staff by Sally in HHA.

Saturday is my holiday. On Sunday morning I prepare teaching plans for Art Class and Art Class materials. In the afternoon I teach Art Class students turn on TV. In the evening I sometimes prepare library before director or operation director run workshop or have a meeting.
