We have a new addition to our growing team, Yorn Phalla. Phalla joins Human and Hope Association as our Sewing Assistant, after having graduated from the first semester of our sewing program and successfully completing her one month trial as Sewing Assistant to Teacher Seyla.
Nineteen year old Phalla lives close to Human and Hope Association with her mother, father, and four siblings. In her spare time she studies English at Human and Hope Association through our Opportunity Scholarship Program. She also makes and repairs clothes for her neighbours with the sewing machine she bought through the Microfinance component of our sewing program. Phalla earns between 50 cents and $2.50 a day making and repairing clothes, which is used to help support her parents who are farmers.
“I like to work at Human and Hope Association because I think it is a good organization and I think I can be a better person and have a good job here”.
Welcome to our team, Phalla!
