Georgie McRae is one no stranger to Cambodia. Having visited the country twice, she fell in love with the people and wanted to do more. “I found out about HHA through my friend Sally, who I met in Cambodia. I thought it sounded like a great organisation, so I was thrilled when Sally offered me a chance to be a part of it and support its work.”
Georgie grew up in country South Australia and had a great childhood filled with lots of fun like horseriding, playing with her little brother and just generally enjoying time with her family. She loved reading about everything and anything, and as a result grew up so fascinated by the world. After finishing High School in 2009, Georgie took a year off to travel the world. Upon returning, she started a degree in law and journalism which she is still undertaking. In her spare time she studies a Diploma of Community Service Work, and is also a qualified TESOL teacher.
Georgie, not one to waste time, is itching to finish University and start working, hopefully in the human rights field. She wants to continue supporting organisations like HHA, and the multiple organisations she supports in Australia, in any way she can.
