At the young age of 21, Leakna's life took a turn for the worse. Her father passed away and her mother fell ill, leaving her with no other option but to drop out of secondary school and work to support her family. Her dreams of getting an education were shattered, and life became a constant struggle for survival.

Determined to provide for her family, Leakna and her loved ones moved to Siem Reap in search of job opportunities. After a few years of hard work, they were finally able to purchase a small piece of land and build a modest home. Despite this progress, Leakna's income as a housekeeper at a local hotel was still barely enough to make ends meet.

But Leakna's life changed when she discovered her passion for sewing. She longed to learn the craft, but could not afford the training. That's when her nieces, who had previously benefited from our education program, introduced her to our sewing courses.

With eagerness and determination, Leakna registered for our program and quickly excelled in her new skill. Upon completion of the sewing course, she secured a job as a seamstress at a local sewing shop, earning a monthly salary of $200. This new career has allowed her to provide a better life for her family and has brought a newfound sense of happiness and fulfillment to her life.

At Human and Hope Association, we are committed to empowering individuals like Leakna by providing access to education and training programs that can transform lives. Your generous support can help us continue to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling, providing them with the resources they need to achieve their goals and live a better life.
