Meet our Community: Hinh

Hinh with her son at their home.

Meet Hinh, a determined mother of three sons, and her hardworking farmer husband who live near HHA. Despite their difficult financial circumstances, Hinh and her husband remain passionate about their children's education and are deeply involved in their schooling.

HHA’s Managing Director, Salin Loeum, describes this family as unique, as both the mother and father are equally committed to supporting their children's education and development. They are a role model in their community, inspiring other parents to prioritize education and take an active role in their children's learning.

Hinh and her husband have participated in various workshops at HHA, learning about important topics such as domestic violence and effective parenting. They are determined to provide their children with the best education possible, always discussing the importance of education and encouraging their children to pursue their dreams.

In 2022, Hinh's two oldest sons continue their education at HHA, with her youngest son soon to join the preschool program. The eldest son is now in 7th grade and excelling in his public-school education, while the other son is in 3rd grade and improving in his English abilities.

Hinh shares, “I want all my children to be educated, not like me and my husband. We were unable to attend school due to poverty and lack of opportunities, but we don't want our children to suffer the same fate. We want them to have bright futures and overcome the obstacles we faced.”

This family's determination to overcome adversity and prioritize education is truly inspirational. At HHA, we are proud to support families like Hinh's in their journey towards a better future. With your support, we can continue to empower families to break the cycle of poverty and provide their children with access to quality education. Join us today and make a difference in the lives of families in need.
