Meet our Community: Sreynot

Sreynot's story is unfortunately all too common in Cambodia, where poverty and lack of access to education often leave young people struggling to make ends meet. Despite facing enormous challenges throughout her life, Sreynot has never given up on her dreams. She has worked hard to finish high school and has spent the last five years working multiple jobs to support her family.

Living with relatives has not been easy, and Sreynot often struggles to get enough food and rest each day. But she remains determined to improve her situation, and it was this drive that led her to join our sewing program. Despite working long hours, Sreynot negotiated new hours with her boss so she could attend the program and learn a valuable new skill.

For Sreynot, being a seamstress is more than just a job – it's her dream. She knows that with this new skill, she can earn more money and better support her family. And thanks to the sewing program, she is now on the path to making that dream a reality.

Sreynot's story is a testament to the power of determination and hard work. Despite the many challenges she has faced, she has never given up hope. Instead, she has continued to push forward, driven by her desire to improve her family's situation and follow her dreams.

At HHA, we are honored to be a part of Sreynot's journey. We believe that with access to education and training, young people like her can overcome even the most difficult circumstances and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
